– Bangna Trat Highway (Highway No. 34) From Bangna, Bangphlee, cross over Bang Pakong River to Chonburi. Take Chonburi bypass to meet Sukhumvit Road (Highway No. 3), pass Bang Saen Beach and Bang Phra to reach Pattaya.
– Bangkok – Minburi (Highway No.304), pass Chachoengsao and Bang Pakong river to reach Chonburi.

was built in 1987 to commemorate His Majesty the King’s 60th Anniversary. The place houses high-class Chinese architecture and fine art. In front of the large building, there are stone sculptures of animals in Chinese mythology, the figures of 8 saints or Sian, 12 zodiac signs and a pair of stone Peking lion which are 3.5 meters high and weigh 22 tons. Inside the hall, there are an ancient Chinese art objects including the Goddess Kuanyin in white jade, the figures of soldiers and horses from the Mausoleum of the First Qin Emperor, the Emperor’s golden throne, old paintings, and ceramics. The second floor contains the figure of one of the 8 saints in Taoism. On the terrace, 18 gestures of Shaolin saints as well as the sculptures of Chinese’s lifestyle and culture.

How to get there: Before reaching Wat Yansangvararam, on Sukhumvit Rd. from Bangkok direction, take the left turn at km 160 marker which goes towards Wat Yansangvararam, turn right and continue about 5 km. There is a direction sign indicating a left turn to Wihan Sian.

were built in the reign of King Mongkut, Rama IV, under the name of “Asai Sathan – the Residences” used as convalescent home, regarded as the first vacation homes of the country. There are two buildings. The large one is in white and the smaller one is in red. In the following reign, Queen Saovabha had the buildings renovated and named the white building “Maharaj Building” and the red one “Rajini Building”. Both buildings were registered by the Fine Arts Department as archeological sites on 14 October 1996.

How to get there: Located next to Ang Sila Fish Market. From Sukhumvit Rd., take the left turn into Ang Sila, the royal residences are on the right.

or Wang Saen Suk Hell Garden features religious sculptures on the area of 32 rai, featuring large and small ghastly figures displaying the suffering and punishment received after death from doing bad deeds. It was built by the Venerable Phothisatto Foundation as reminders for people to keep high moral standards and the faith in the Lord Buddha’s law of cause and effect. On the other side, the Land of Buddhism features the Lord Buddha at birth, attaining enlightenment and death. There is a literature zone featuring Phra Abhai Mani, the masterpiece story of Soonthorn Phu, a great poet in the reign of Rattanakosin. There are also figures of deities in other religions.

Wihan Thep Sathit Phra Kitti Chaloem or Nacha Sa Thai Chue Shrine

The Najasathaichue Chinese Temple was built in 1991 on an original area of 200 square wa, by Master Somchai Choeisiri. In 1996, he built a large Chinese temple in honor of His Majesty the King on his 72nd Anniversary. The name, Thep Sathit Phra Kiti Chaloem was given by His Holiness the Supreme Patriarch which means the abode of gods. The 4-storey temple is designed and elaborately decorated with Chinese art and design. There are 2,840 scultures of dragon. In front of the building, the hall of Heaven and Earth, with the 36-metre dragon pole with 9 dragons representing the 9 planets.

How to get there: 1/13 Moo 5, Ang Sila – Bangsaen Rd., Ang Sila, Muang, Chonburi. From Sukhumvit Rd., turn right into Ang Sila Rd., at the Old Market Ang Sila intersection, turn left to Ang Sila-Bangsaen Rd. The temple is on the left.

Wat Ang Sila

Built in late Ayutthaya Period, around 1700, Ang Sila Temple was originally comprised of twin prayer halls opr Bots, Inner Hall (Wat Ang Nai) and Outer Hall (Wat Ang Nok). They were merged into one temple in King Rama V Chulalongkorn. There are older murals and a group of pagodas standing in front of the Bot. The Outer Bot features murals from the Third Reign, by painters from Wat Sam Pluem in 1825. It features the life story of the Lord Buddha in red, black and indigo, with inscriptions in ancient Khmer and Thai. The temple has been registered by the Fine Arts Department as archeological sites.

How to get there: On Highway No.3134, Moo 4, Ang Sila, Muang, Chonburi. From Sukhumvit Rd., turn right into Ang Sila, go straight before the intersection to the old Ang Sila market. The temple is on the left.

Wat Yansangwararam. www.pattayafuntown.com

The temple is situated approximately 12 km south of Pattaya City. It was built 1976 on the purpose of paying respect Somdet Phra Yanasangwon, the present Supreme Patriarch and is now under the patronage of His Majesty the King. The architecture of the temple is noted for its elegant and modern Thai style within peaceful surroundings.

Within the ground, there are a mondop (pavilion with four gables) with a replica of the Buddha’s footprints, a large stupa with the relics of the Lord Buddha and his disciples, Phra Yanaret Vihan as well as international pavilions representing the architecture of several countries. Nearby, there is also a Chinese-style building housing antiques and art objects from China. Various types of meditation courses are available from 06.00 am. – 06.00 pm.

How to get there: Located 12 km south of Pattaya and 3 km from Nong Nooch Tropical Garden. It can be reached by turning left from Sukhumvit Rd. at km 160 marker.

Admission: 50 Baht. Dress code: Both women and men should have shoulders covered and wear long pants or skirts.

is located at the border of South Pattaya and Jomtien. The top of the hill is one of the best viewpoint overlooking the crescent bay of Pattaya. It is a popular spot amongst the tourists, especially at the sunset and at night when the city is lit up. Wat Khao Phra Bat, the Monument of Kromluang Chomphonkhetudomsak, the founding Father of modern Thai Navy, Phra Phut Sukhothai Cholatan, Buddha image in Subduing Mara gesture and Thai Navy’s radio station are also located on the hilltop. At the foot of the hill, there is a public park. TAT office is also located nearby.

How to get there: From Sukhumvit Rd., turn right at the road sign to South Pattaya. Turn left at the first traffic light, continue until reaching a-5-way intersection. Turn left to Phratamnak Rd. and turn right again towards Royal Cliff Beach Garden Resort. Drive uphill. There is a parking lot catering up to 40 – 50 cars.

Bali Hai Pier

Bali Hai pier provides the ferry and speedboat to Koh Larn. Yellow Submarine, a tour company situated nearby offers services for an underwater sightseeing.

is a small public park covering the area of 15 rai. It was built to commemorate His Majesty the King’s 60th birthday on 5 December 1988. Adorned with flowers, the park was designed for residents to take a rest and relax. It also has a multipurpose plaza and some exercise facilities on the ground. There are small paths for leisurely strolling or jogging along the hill line.

How to get there: The park is located at the foot of Phra Bat Hill (Pattaya Hill), Phratamnak Rd., between South Pattaya and Jomtien Beach.

The Tuxedo team claimed to be the only team to represent Thailand at international magic events where they have performed with internationally renowned magicians such as Franz Harry. Satchatham Temple is a wooden temple, located by the sea. It was designed by Lek Wiriyapan, the founder of the Ancient City at Samut Prakan Province in 1981. The Temple is entirely built with wood. The beauty of the Temple is elaborated through wood dwellings and woodcarvings. It is considered an exotic and imposing architectural work of art of the century, embellishing with artwork and woodcarvings which reflects the intellect and spirit of the Eastern civilization and art. It also reflects the importance of religion which has helped to uphold the world. The Temple received the award of Outstanding Tourist Attraction from the Tourism Industry Awards in 2008.

How to get there: 206/2 Moo5, Naklua Soi 12, Naklua Rd., Banglamung, Chonburi. On Wong Phra Chan Beach, 3 km from North Pattaya. If you are driving from Naklua Rd., turn into Soi 12 and drive towards the end of the Soi where there is a large entrance towards the Temple on the right.
